TETSUGAKUNOMICHI kyoto

The Best Walking

TRAVEL GUIDE
Tetsugakunomichi  Okazaki  Kyoto Japan

“Tetsugaku no michi” What a wonderful name of promenade. It means the way of philosophy. This name was given because there are many literary and philosophers near Kyoto University. No other beautiful name is as simple and romantic as it is. It is 1.5km from Wakaoji Bridge, where Eikando is located, to Ginkakuji Bridge, where Ginkakuji Temple is located. The promenade along the quiet waterways is especially beautiful during the fresh green season. Visit all of Kyoto’s leading temples on the east side of this road, without choosing one. If possible, walk slowly and enjoy the beauty.

The unique sand-piles “Kogetsudai” and “Ginsyadan” and the view from the top of the mountain in the strolling garden are wonderful.
